My Objective

Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to the field of software development, with an emphasis on leveraging Adobe ColdFusion as my primary development language. Over the years, I have honed my skills and expertise, constantly pushing the boundaries of what ColdFusion can achieve. My commitment is rooted in ColdFusion's versatility, efficiency, and ability to seamlessly integrate with various technologies, allowing me to create robust and dynamic web applications. I have consistently sought out opportunities to stay at the forefront of ColdFusion development, ensuring that I can deliver innovative solutions and meet the evolving needs of clients and users in an ever-changing digital landscape.

What do I look for in my career?

When I'm asked what I want out of where I work, I tell people that I look for four things:

Mastery

I've been building web applications for more than 25 years, and I am constantly learning something new. I want to continue to develop my expertise and hone my craft to build even better experiences moving forward.

Autonomy

Once I have an understanding of what the goals are and the objectives that need to be achieved, I appreciate the opportunity to be self-directed; to dive into a project and be able to immerse myself to be focused on getting the job done.

Engagement

There's no better feeling than creating a tool, or an application and delivering it to my client and knowing that it's going to make a material impact. I appreciate feeling like what I do matters, and seeing the contribution I am making to the business.

Leadership

I am an experienced manager, and I know how to work well with other people. I want there to be a clear indication of who the leadership is expected to be and the direction projects need to take.

Ok... so where does salary fall on this list?

I've always been a firm believer that in order to receive the most productivity from your employees, you should pay them well enough so that the issue of money is off the table. If I'm not worried about my expenses, I can focus on the tasks at hand, and my salary expectations reflect just that.

Take 10 minutes and watch this video. It clearly defines what motivates me as a developer.
